Differentiation is the most important element of a company’s business plan. Without it a company is viewed as a commodity seller and sales growth is achieved through very competitive sales strategy that are based largely on price. The ongoing downward spiral on pricing causes ongoing pressure on margin.

Having differentiation strategies enables a company to refocus any product discussions on new product and services without having price as the determining factor.
