A technology start-up company had developed an end-user loyalty rewards program. It is important to recognize that this was being done before the advent of the popular “Air Miles” and credit card loyalty type programs that are main stream today. The company specialized in developing an internet based system to track and maintain the customer profiles, rewards and awards.
Having heard that I was capable of developing easy-to-use MS Office analytical and decision making programs, I was to develop such a tool for use by its sales team to use in presentations to its customers. My understanding and exposure to the automotive industry 3-step distribution structure was of significant value, as this was a market segment that they had targeted as their first point of entry.
The program provided a simple tool that demonstrated how rewards could be delivered electronically to all participants in the 3-step distribution system, ensuring that all levels received the predetermined individual rewards (pyramid). The program used easy-to-navigate drop boxes to create scenarios, thus avoiding typing. A major advantage of using this
technique provided the opportunity to enhance the credibility of the information delivered because the potential customer was asked to create his unique set of values to determine the potential viability within his company.
Once completed, a Powerpoint presentation was created for the rewards company and the MS Office Excel program was integrated within it to make the presentation seamless and interactive.
