Project Outcome:
As a member of the small and medium sized enterprises (SME’s) business category, TartanFrog itself experiences the inability to access affordable business management programs that enables it to manage its activities and financials in the most efficient and effective way possible.
Since the company has made the development of easy-to-use business analytical and management tools, it decided to develop a business management tool that suited its business environment and activities. TartanFrog Inc. provides two distinctively different services to different markets. The first service focuses on consulting services in procurement, strategic planning, sales and marketing development and most importantly program differentiation initiatives to small retailing and manufacturing companies. The second is a freelance writing service dedicated to producing collateral materials, editorial services, creative communication programs, internet communication mailers, video script development, etc…
The diverse list of services and customers requires an easy-to-use and maintain business management program that supports the following design criteria:
- Must be able to create and track provide service and commission invoice, bill payment and taxation transactions
- Must be able to view and analyze collective information monthly and annually by customer, business category in financial and graphical formats
- Must manage and integrate expense management and self-managed employee benefit program
- Must classify all transactions into categories that support the year-end reporting requirements
The program has been in place for seven years and meets the needs of TartanFrog’s diverse customer account base and wide range of services. Modifications have been made to the program over time to adjust for changes in government taxation policies and the changes in TartanFrog’s services.
TartanFrog Inc. has provided the program to several small consultative organizations as a means of testing the usability and effectiveness of the programs. To date all users are pleased with the program especially when it comes time to having the yearend financial results tabulated. TartanFrog and guest and users of this program no longer depend on handing over a box of receipts and expenses to the accountant.
