Project Outcome:
A former business colleague turned professor approached me one day to help him and his department at a local college solve a student one-on-one student performance and evaluation problem. Knowing that I could create easy-to-use MS Office program, I met with him and his colleagues to obtain the key issues and objectives of the tool required.
The performance requirements for the evaluation tools required by the group are as follows:
- Must be able to collect data on all types of critical performance measures (test, papers, exams, participation, etc…)
- The individual critical performance must be easily adjusted to include a weighted measurement factor
- Since there would be many valuation entries in each of the critical performance factors, the instructor must be able to adjust the selection to be “The Best of 3, 5, etc…). This variable enabled the instructor(s) to adjust or compensate individual students or class results to offset for a bad day
- Must have a screen to display information for a specific student while showing aggregate information of any or all classes for comparison purposes during student one-on-one performance reviews
- Final student performance marks be generated in an electronic format that could be submitted at the end of each term into the schools student database
