Executive on Demand Positions:
President, Chief Operating Officer, General Manager, Vice President Sales, and Marketing, Vice President Logistics, Vice President Procurement

Project Outline:
New government legislation released affecting the performance and safe use of a wide range of aerosol packaged products when labeled and sold through a retail location. For products using an extension tube that can be inserted into the aerosol valve actuator to provide a more powerful and direct spray of the aerosol contents it must somehow be re-attached to the aerosol container when not in use. The legislation stressed that the method for attaching the extension tube to the aerosol container must be able to resist the ability of children two years and under from removing it from the attaching location and inserting it into the actuator. As a result of the change in legislation aerosol fillers may no longer be able to continue attaching the extension tube to the can using the two most common methods: securing the extension tube using an elastic band or a piece of transparent tape.
Project Outcome:
A new aerosol cap was designed with a groove in the top of it with retaining claws to store and secure an extension tube. A dimple was added to the center of the cap to assist an adult user in the removal of the tube for use in the aerosol actuator valve and then when the user is finished using the product the tube can be removed and returned to the groove for safe storage. The solution created meets the new aerosol packaging legislation.
