Aerosol caps are not the most efficient product to ship from halfway around the world. The traditional style cap could not be stacked as the bottom lip of the cap and the top of the cap were very close to the same dimension. As a result when the caps were stacked in a box, mot of the contents in the master carton is air. A re-design of the cap with a reduced diameter for the top half provided the client with an opportunity to stack the caps into the master carton. A significant transportation cost reduction was achieved as the quantity of aerosol caps that could be packed in a container increased by more than 30%.
